In 2019, I joined the creative team for Blacker, an award-winning comedy series about racism created by Rhett Owen and Eric Lockley. Most recently, Blacker was screened at the Bowery Film Festival. We’re hoping to get more episodes to your small screen soon. Check out the series website to watch the first two episodes and be in touch if you want to partner on distribution. ;-)
Finall, "48 Hours in...Harlem" /
On August 25, 2019 I was finally able to arrange my schedule to participate in 48 Hours in…Harlem!
In this edition of Harlem9’s annual event, 6 playwrights were selected to re-imagine six works by the late Ntozake Shange, with whom I collaborated on her choreoessay Lost in Language & Sound. Over a 48-hour period, the plays were cast, rehearsed, and produced as an evening of shorts, culminating in two performances. My play, groupchat, inspired by Black & White Two Dimensional Planes will be published in the next anthology of 48 Hours in…Harlem plays.

The Clark Doll featured at the Deep Water Literary Fest /
Last month, I was invited to Narrowsburg to present at the Deep Water Literary Festival alongside other world-class writers interested in retelling Grimm’s Fairy Tales. I had an amazing time presenting excerpts from The Clark Doll as part of “Snow White and Black” a performance that looks at the classic tale through the lens of race.
